An abundance of fun social events are planned each year, offering everyone a chance to mingle, make new friends, laugh, feast and dance the night away. Some of the past events include; Our Big Fat Greek Welcome Back Party, Country Comes to the Country Club, Denim and Diamonds, Comedy Nights with; Jimmy Keys, Bob Posh, Robin Roth and Andy Guerrilia, State and Country Night, Tony and Maria’s Italian Wedding Dinner Performance, Margaritaville, Bubba Gump’s Seafood Pool Party, Splish-Splash Poolparty, Oktoberfest, Halloween Monster Mash, Day of the Dead, Winter Wonderland Holiday Ball, Hairspray Dance Party and Mardi Gras. Events feature live entertainment from local talent such as; Cahlua & Cream, Renata, Billy Dean & Dawn, Hot Topic, Tim Casey,  Danny Morgan, The Porch Dogs and The Wholly Cats.

Theme Nights

In conjunction with casual and fine dining, Pelican Sound also offers theme nights including; Seafood Extravaganza, On the Orient Express, Little Italy, Spanish Tapas Night, South of the Border and Floribbean buffets to name a few.

Vegas Night

Each year Pelican Sound features a social fundraising event for Our Mother’s Home of South West Florida. In recent years Pelican Sound has held Vegas Night with games of chance, Black Jack, Texas Hold’em, Bingo, 50/50 Drawing, Mystery Boxes and Silent and Live Auctions. In total over the last four years, Pelican Sound has raised and donated $56,500.00 to OMH. This is just one small way that Pelican sound gives back to the local community.

What is “Our Mother’s Home?
“Our Mothers Home” was founded in 1994 by an extraordinary local woman, Helen Coppage. As Foster parents, Helen and her husband witnessed a significant need for a dedicated facility for adolescent foster care children who became pregnant and wished to remain the mother of their child. These girls came from broken homes, abusive situations and had no where to turn. OMH became a reality and was dedicated on Mother’s Day 2000. Since then OMH has been home to over 100 foster care adolescents and their babies enabling them to remain together as mother and child. Here they are provided the love and support of a meaningful home environment while working to completing their high school education and learn essential “life skills” needed to become independent, productive members of society. Unfortunately, in the State of Florida when a foster child reaches the age of 18, they are left to fend for themselves with no support network. At OMH,, at age 18, the mothers enter the “transition program”. The program assists them with finding safe housing and setting up a household, while also arranging for them to finish high school or enroll in college. At the present time Our Mother’s Home is kicking off a campaign to build housing on their adjoining lot to house the girls and babies in the transition program. $450,000 is needed for the Capital Campaign and they have $90,000 seed money so far $30,000. of the money raised from Pelican Sound has gone to the seed money needed for this project.
